This paper, based on testing fuel quantity and components, air quantity, smoke components
and exhaust temperature, uses energy analysis of steam generator to calculate the positive
and reverse balance efficiencies at a maximum error 254%. Energy consumption analysis is
conducted to find the major factors of steam generator efficiency, which plays a vital role
in finding energy consuming processes and exploring saving energy. Fuel quantity in the
overheated steam generator is calculated as the same steam quantity is generated. When
generator is running, excess of air is the key factor impacting generators efficiency,
which may be largely increased by recovering the heat of nitrogen in the exhaust and
sensible heat in the steam along with recovering the latent heat of steam. The same fuel
will produce more wet saturated steam than overheated steam, and more fuel is consumed to
produce overheated steam with the same steam quantity.
